Because Jeff Dahmer supposedly killed 14-year-old Konerak Sinthasomphone, the Sinthasomphone family, in 1992, was able to file a lawsuit against the City of Milwaukee and were awarded $850,000:
Estate of Sinthasomphone ex rel. Sinthasomphone v. City of Milwaukee, 785 F. Supp. 1343 (1992)
The estate of Konerak Sinthasomphone and his family have filed a lawsuit claiming that the police officers and the City of Milwaukee violated their constitutional rights.
Konerak Sinthasomphone supposedly had an older brother named Somsack. Jeff Dahmer - as the story goes - supposedly molested Somsack in 1988 and spent 10 months in prison (work release). We found out that the apartment where this molestation allegedly happened was rented by the DA, E. Michael McCann, the man who prosecuted Jeff Dahmer in 1991. Yes, you read that right.
We were told the photo on the right is Konerak, the 14-year-old Laotian boy who was murdered by Jeff Dahmer. We were never shown a photo of Somsack Sinthasomphone. However, we found one on Ancestry.com, hidden away in a 1990 high school yearbook. This particular photo wasn't indexed by Ancestry. We found it by looking for his name in the yearbook's index and then going to that page. You can see this photo on the left. Compare with the victim photo of "Konerak" on the right.
We found no evidence of a "Konerak Sinthasomphone" in any official record, but plenty of information about Somsack Sinthasomphone.
The people they told us were Somsack and Konerak's parents - Somdy and Sounthone Sinthasomphone - never filed a claim with the Social Security Administration for anyone named Konerak or Somsack. They did file claims for their children, Anoukone and Keisone, though:
You can look this information up yourself. You won’t find any official records for a ‘‘Konerak Sinthasomphone”. You’ll find pages created on popular media sites like Find-A-Grave, etc. Anyone can create these pages.
So, the supposed parents of "Konerak Sinthasomphone" never filed any claim for him with the Social Security Administration. They also never filed a claim for Somsack Sinthasomphone.
Was Somsack even their son?
Note that Somsack Sinthasomphone had a guardian ad litem in the lawsuit against the City of Milwaukee:
A guardian ad litem is “a person appointed by a court to look after and protect the interests of someone who is unable to take care of themselves…They are usually appointed in cases involving disputes over child custody, child support, adoption, divorce, emancipation of minors, and visitation rights.”
So, Somsack Sinthasomphone had a guardian ad litem even though his "parents" were alive, married, and named on the lawsuit.
There’s something else interesting about the Sinthasomphone family. They were brought from Laos to the US with the help of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. Soon after they arrived in the US they developed a close relationship with a man named Father Peter Burns.
Here's a story from the New York Times that mentions the Sinthasomphone family's close relationship with Father Peter Burns:
Father Peter Burns was eventually convicted of second degree sexual assault against a minor (male) and spent just under a year in prison (work release).
Note that this is what the official story claims about Jeff Dahmer, that he spent just under a year in prison (work release) for supposedly molesting Somsack Sinthasomphone in 1988.
Was the Sinthasomphone lawsuit against the City of Milwaukee actually for Somsack Sinthasomphone because he was assaulted by Father Peter Burns, a man who was a close friend of the family?
You can read about Father Peter Burns at Bishop Accountability.
Here's a 104 page PDF containing more information about Father Peter Burns, close friend of the Sinthasomphone family.
This mugshot of Peter Burns was taken in 2011:
The Archdiocese of Milwaukee was drowning in sexual abuse claims around the time Jeff Dahmer was arrested. Here’s what we know:
The man who prosecuted Jeff Dahmer, District Attorney E. Michael McCann was a close friend of Archbishop Rembert Weakland. Weakland, who was gay, had a string of lovers and used diocesan funds to pay one of them, Paul Marcoux, $450,000 to keep their affair quiet.
District Attorney E. Michael McCann’s, Assistant DA was Gregory J. O'Meara, now known as Rev Gregory J. O'Meara, the rector of the Marquette University Jesuit Community.
Jeff Dahmer's attorney, Gerald Boyle, was representing the accused priests for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. From Bishop Accountability.org:
Judge William Gardner, the man who - according to the story - sentenced Jeff Dahmer to a year in prison (work release) for molesting Somsack Sinthasomphone, had worked for McCann at one time and said deaf students who were sexually molested by Father Lawrence Murphy were ''making up stories''.
The two officers, Balcerzak and Gabrish, who supposedly returned a bleeding Konerak Sinthasomphone to Jeff Dahmer helped Gerald Boyle defend the accused Capuchin priests and brothers:
We find it incredible that attorney Gerald Boyle later hired officers Balcerzak and Gabrish as investigators in a church pedophile case. Not that it's a conflict of interest per se, but the Capuchin case was only two years after Jeff Dahmer’s arrest/trial and the Simthasomphone family’s lawsuit against the City of Milwaukee. Surely those dismissed police officers, even though they were eventually reinstated, would be damaged goods on a witness stand, no? Why wasn’t Gerald Boyle worried about that?
So, we know the Sinthasomphone family was closely associated with Father Peter Burns, a man who was eventually convicted of second degree sexual assault against a teenage boy. We also know that the Sinthasomphone family sued the City of Milwaukee and got $850,000 because of what Jeff Dahmer supposedly did to "Konerak Sinthasomphone”, someone we can't find any official records for and who looks strikingly like Somsack Sinthasomphone:
Did the Sinthasomphone family’s lawsuit against the City of Milwaukee - which was made possible because of Jeff Dahmer’s alleged crimes - save the Archdiocese of Milwaukee $850,000? The Archdiocese had already paid a $650,000 lawsuit a few years before. Read all about that and more here: The Sexual Abuse of Children in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.
The Archdiocese of Milwaukee eventually ended up filing Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2011 because of its numerous sex abuse lawsuit liabilities:
Milwaukee archdiocese will pay $21m to more than 300 victims of clergy abuse
The Archdiocese of Milwaukee has a long list of restricted priests on it's website. Click on a name and then click on “documents” to read about each priest. Father Peter Burns is listed there.
If you're wondering why Jeff Dahmer went along with this, here's a theory.
We leave you with a disturbing video of Jeff Dahmer giving off POW vibes in a deposition related to the Sinthasomphone lawsuit against the City of Milwaukee. Note the Hard Copy-esque soundtrack and narration.
It’s clearly corruption.
