Who Was the "Great Detective" Pat Kennedy?
Was he even a detective? What do we know about him?
If you believe the media, Pat Kennedy was a “great detective” who played a major role in the Jeff Dahmer “serial killer” fake news story.
Is that the truth, though? Who was “Detective Pat Kennedy” in reality?
Here’s Pat Kennedy on The Jeffrey Dahmer Files show impersonating the alleged “head in a fridge” crime scene :
If this had been a real case, Pat Kennedy’s behavior would have been considered extremely unprofessional for a law enforcement officer. As someone representing the law, he would be expected to conform to the highest standards of conduct and ethics.
Of course, this “serial killer” fake news show was just entertainment, not a real case. Given that, Pat Kennedy was free to ham it up, and he did as you can see.
What do we know about Detective Patrick Kennedy?
Despite his high-profile role in the alleged investigation of Jeff Dahmer, there’s a curious lack of evidence supporting the claim that he was a respected law enforcement professional. In fact, the details surrounding his illustrious police career are elusive and questionable.
We tried to obtain publicly available information about Pat Kennedy’s employment history through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), but our requests to the state have gone unanswered.
This raises suspicions, as there are no legal restrictions to obtaining such public records. Look up Wisconsin Open Records Law (Wis. Stat. 19.35(1)(a)). The public has a right to transparency regarding individuals claiming to represent law enforcement and who wield such significant influence.
Given the lack of verifiable evidence, we need to consider the possibility that Pat Kennedy wasn’t an actual law enforcement officer. One would expect a detective of his reported caliber to have a well-documented career. However, any evidence of such a career is missing, and the authorities are silent. For example…
Why haven’t we seen photos of Pat Kennedy in a police uniform? Where are his graduation photos? Such photos would support the claims made about him. It’s curious that we haven’t seen any photos like this, given the extensive media coverage he received.
The media coverage of his high-profile role also fails to mention any of his past or subsequent cases or investigative work - an unusual omission given his purported reputation as a ‘’Great Detective.’’ However, Kennedy's IMDb profile provides a glimpse into his involvement in the entertainment industry, from films to documentaries and much more. Despite the lack of evidence of a concrete police career history, Kennedy's impact on the world of entertainment is undeniable:
You'll find many more examples online.
Additionally, the book Grilling Dahmer, which claims to provide an insider's account of the investigation, carries a disclaimer that the work can be interpreted as fictional.
Notably, Patrick Kennedy did not actually write this book despite his name being attributed to it. Likewise, the predecessor of this book, Dahmer Detective, which was published in 2016, also carries a disclaimer that the work can be interpreted as fictional.
The public has a right to know who Detective Patrick Kennedy really was
The public has a right to transparency and access to information about individuals who are presented as authorities in high-profile criminal cases. Given the lack of response to our FOIA requests and the scarcity of verifiable evidence about Kennedy's background, it is reasonable to conclude that his media portrayal as a detective in the alleged investigation was part of the fabricated narrative intended to mislead the public.
If Kennedy was indeed a legitimate police officer, the situation would be even more disturbing because the idea that law enforcement would perpetuate a fake narrative and misuse their authority is a grotesque violation of the public's trust. It would mean the media and authorities willingly propagated a false persona, undermining the credibility of both institutions. In this scenario, the public's trust has been betrayed in an even more fundamental way.
Did Pat Kennedy spill the beans about Jeff Dahmer?
Interestingly, some insights provided by Pat Kennedy in a 2013 Westword interview challenge the common narrative. In his account of Jeff, Kennedy states,
He had already killed that first kid by accident, back in Bath, thirteen years before he moved to Milwaukee.
“By accident.”
That’s a curious remark because it isn’t what the official narrative states. According to the official narrative, Jeff Dahmer killed Steven Hicks with a barbell to stop him from leaving. However, the evidence we’ve uncovered does point to an accident.
Pat Kennedy also described Jeff Dahmer as…
…tolerant and not racist at all. The people in the neighborhood he lived all thought he was a pretty decent white guy. You could see he had real love for his mom and dad and grandpa and brother.
This testimony directly contradicts the common narrative and instead lends credence to our theory that the incident involving Steven Hicks was an accident rather than a premeditated act.
The fact that Jeff Dahmer’s parents and his stepmother, Shari Dahmer, were found guilty in the subsequent wrongful death lawsuit, carrying additional charges of negligence and negligent entrustment, further supports the idea that Steven Hicks’ death was a result of negligence, not malice.
I want to share something about a video I watched. Do you remember the girl who went to the prom with Jeff in high school? She mentioned in the video that when they arrived at the prom, Jeff disappeared for a while. She initially thought he went to the washroom, but after 30 minutes passed, he returned after 40 minutes and she found out that he went to McDonald's to get food because he was too nervous to eat at the prom. He kept apologizing and even brought her some food. She reassured him, but he felt really bad and kept apologizing.
Now, let's compare this with "My Friend Dahmer," the movie where Ross Lynch starred. In the prom scene, they only show Jeff eating McDonald's in the car and that's it, not the aftermath like the girl mentioned in her video.
I'm trying to point out the disparity between the media portrayal of Jeff in Netflix and the real-life account from the girl, which revealed how nice and goofy Jeff truly was. This is how the media and entertainment industries shows the good person as bad and the bad people as good. This is REALLY injustice to Jeff :(

we know nothing at all really about him. Except what we are 'told'
